European Union countries need another two to three years of sustained effort and investment to be able to respond effectively to any flu pandemic, the Stockholm based European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control has said.
In its first review of national preparedness among 25 countries of the EU (all the countries except for Romania and Bulgaria), as well as Iceland and Norway, the centre has analysed the measures that have already been taken and highlights areas where more work is needed.
