German hospital doctors temporarily halt strike but vow to continue

    Doctors in 25 German university hospitals and 14 state psychiatric hospitals are determined to continue with their strike of more than nine weeks to achieve better pay and working conditions.

    They will not accept an agreement that was reached last week between state employees and the Tarifgemeinschaft der Länder (TdL) group, representing the state employers, because it does not satisfy their demands, said a spokesperson from the hospital doctors' union, the Marburger Bund.
