PLoS launches open access journal for clinical trials

    An open access journal that will publish reports of clinical trials was launched this week by the Public Library of Science, with the aim of increasing the transparency of clinical research.

    The journal, PLoS Clinical Trials, will peer review and publish reports of randomised clinical trials in all areas of medicine and public health. In common with other journals published by the Public Library of Science (PLoS), a coalition of researchers and doctors founded in 2000, it is available on the internet to read and download at no cost to the user (www.plosclinicaltrials.org). …
