Many sexual health services are “in danger of drowning”

A third of specialist doctors in England believe that access to sexual health services is worsening, a snapshot survey of primary care trust leads and clinic specialists shows. Almost two thirds of clinics are forced to turn patients away, it found.

The fourth annual survey of sexual health service planning and delivery, published jointly by three specialist associations and the HIV charity the Terrence Higgins Trust, was completed by a representative sample of 66 primary care trusts and 88 specialists across England.
