Mental health services for adults in Wales are in danger of not meeting key standards and targets set by the Welsh Assembly, a report has said. At the time the services were reviewed by the Wales Audit Office, 26% of general adult psychiatry consultant posts were vacant, and trusts were taking a considerable amount of time to fill them—as many as four years in a few cases. In three trusts the number of vacancies was more than 40%.
