    EDITOR—I have lived and worked as a doctor in Israel. I have little sympathy for the government of Ariel Sharon, and I have had the privilege of meeting Yitzhak Rabin, as well as many other Israelis who were and are committed to peace. But I am dismayed by Summerfield's comments and appalled by the BMJ's decision to publish them.1
