Doctors in England reduce antibiotic prescribing for children: GPs in England are prescribing half the quantity of antibiotics for children than they did 10 years ago. Researchers from St George's Hospital, London, and the NHS's Prescription Pricing Authority found that 12.4 million items were dispensed in 1993, compared with 6.5 million in 2002.
