    EDITOR—In his letter above and on bmj.com> in response to Empey's editorial, Dudley says that a case could be made for establishing a unit that has the expertise to handle suspensions.1 2 I think a case should be made for re-establishing a unit to handle suspensions. This was a function that was carried out by the old regions and ceased when they were dissolved.
