EDITOR—Although I agree with Empey that the recent direction from the Department of Health on the suspension of doctors represents progress—major progress with the mandatory need for referral to the National Clinical Assessment Authority (NCAA)—he has glossed over the fact that it has taken nine years for it to be produced.1
