    Evidence based medicine (EBM) is a term that often gets bandied about these days. At a recent evening lecture, the featured speaker droned on about how he was a firm believer in EBM. It turned out, however, that the speaker's presentation didn't follow the EBM guidelines described by Sackett and colleagues (BMJ 1996;312:71-72).
