EDITOR—Having read Plant and Plant's letter on drinking by young British women,1 we present data on 12 361 men and 20 534 women aged 20-80 from the genetic environmental nature of emotional states in siblings (GENESiS) study. These data suggest that it is not just drinking by young British women that gives cause for concern: drinking by young British men does too.
