Jed Mercurio is a former senior house officer (SHO), better known for having written the BBC medical drama Cardiac Arrest under the pseudonym John MacUre. Bodies is his first novel. Written in the first person, it tracks the journey of a new graduate, fresh out of medical school, through his preregistration year and eventually into his SHO jobs at a large city teaching hospital.
