Fast track patients more likely to beat colorectal cancer

    Early detection rates for colorectal cancer at a district general hospital in Wales have more than doubled since the setting up of a rapid access, subspecialty unit.

    Emergency surgery rates have also fallen substantially, down from 29.2% to 8.2%; mortality and waiting times have reduced too.
