Callers who contacted NHS Direct in south London were most likely to be given advice to care for themselves, according to new research.
A review of the activity of NHS Direct in an area in south London with high rates of deprivation shows that self care advice accounted for the largest proportion of calls (37%), while a further 28% of callers were told to consult their GP, either routinely (10%) or urgently (18%). …
