A former GP negotiator has raised concerns over the government's proposal to transfer sensitive talks about family doctors' contracts to the NHS Confederation.
The health secretary, Alan Milburn, announced last week that civil servants would no longer be taking part in talks with members' of the BMA's General Practitioners Committee, as has been the case for many years.
