Rapid responses are electronic comments to the editor. They enable our users
to debate issues raised in articles published on bmj.com. A rapid response
is first posted online. If you need the URL (web address) of an individual
response, simply click on the response headline and copy the URL from the
browser window. A proportion of responses will, after editing, be published
online and in the print journal as letters, which are indexed in PubMed.
Rapid responses are not indexed in PubMed and they are not journal articles.
The BMJ reserves the right to remove responses which are being
wilfully misrepresented as published articles or when it is brought to our
attention that a response spreads misinformation.
From March 2022, the word limit for rapid responses will be 600 words not
including references and author details. We will no longer post responses
that exceed this limit.
The word limit for letters selected from posted responses remains 300 words.
Yes it is important to have funds allocated for the management of
Huge Health Projects. Somehow the Planning has to focus on the proper
allocation of funds. Lot of attention is given to Prevention Aspect,
leaving the Care & Support in HIV/AIDS. There are many people living
with HIV/AIDS and their families, what about their life and treatment of
opportunistic infections The Health System in India requires the combination
of many fields rather than only Medical Professionals. The medical power
strongly rules all the health care systems, without giving a second
thought that Medicine is different from Social Science . Many enthusiastic
social scientists are ready to take up this challenging work but lack the
opportunity as Health Promotion is still controlled by the Medical
profession.
More NGO collaboration with Government is required for effective
implementation of health projects. More skilled and motivated people from
NGO's need to be involved in the mainstream of Health programmes.
Just funds and setting targets is the answer. Nevertheless the lacunas of
reaching to the set goals require a collaborative approach from all the
fields working closely with Human Beings.
Consider Human Beings as a resource for future development and better
quality of life for each one.
