    Doctors need to “sell themselves” more effectively to the public if they are to achieve legislative results, Senator Gordon Smith from Oregon told an audience of cancer specialists earlier this month.

    Speaking at the annual meeting of the American College of Radiation Oncology in California, the senator said that the American public did not fully appreciate the contribution that doctors make to society.
