The BMA has called on the General Medical Council to delay introducing its revalidation proposals until certain practical problems have been addressed.
The council is due to finalise its proposals in the near future, but the BMA council's chairman, Dr Ian Bogle, has asked the GMC's president, Sir Donald Irvine, to postpone any decision.
