New cancer journal to seek strategies for developing countries

    Asian doctors have launched a quarterly medical journal intended to focus on cancer prevention and treatment strategies in developing countries.

    The Austral-Asian Journal of Cancer, released in India last week, will address cancer issues relevant to developing countries that are not always adequately discussed in current cancer journals, oncologists associated with the journal said.

    Developing countries are expected to account for two thirds of an estimated 15 million new annual cancer cases by 2015, but they have to make do with just 5% of global resources for cancer control.
