New editor takes charge at New England Journal of Medicine

Dr Marcia Angell, formerly executive editor of the New England Journal of Medicine, has taken over as editor in chief until a new editor is found by a search committee, which may take up to a year.
The editorships of two major journals in the United States are now vacant, at the New England Journal of Medicine and JAMA (the journal of the American Medical Association). They may be competing for the same pool of candidates.
