EDITOR—In his article on sexual health issues in homosexual men and women Bell has made inaccurate statements concerning viral hepatitis.1 Firstly, he states that hepatitis B in homosexual men is not spread by specific sexual practices. In fact, several studies have linked homosexual transmission to oroanal and genitoanal sex.2 Secondly, he states that the Department of Health recommends vaccination against hepatitis A for all homosexual men.
