Council of Europe urges better palliative care

    European governments and the medical profession are being urged to give a higher priority to the provision of proper palliative care and the treatment of pain as part of a range of measures to protect the dignity of terminally ill and dying patients. These measures would also include effective social and psychological support for patients and their families.
