    The children recently developed some romantic notion of going camping for the weekend. Their vision (acquired from I know not where) includes hot sausages on demand, clear starry skies, crackling campfires, and jolly sing songs. My own memories of camping (from the none too distant era when our holiday venues were dictated by financial necessity) are not quite thus, but I have agreed to give it another go.
