The Career focus article on http://www.bmj.com/cgi/content/full/317/7165/S2-7165 (BMJ 1998;317classified suppl:17 Oct) was attributed to only one author, Richard Hardern. In fact there were two. John Sloan, also a consultant in the Accident and Emergency Department at the General Infirmary at Leeds, should have shared the credit.
