The World Health Organisation (WHO) has announced three key appointments: the project managers for the two top priority cabinet projects--the Tobacco Free initiative and the Roll Back Malaria project--and the director of public relations.
“These are the first three director level posts that have been publicly advertised,” said the organisation's senior policy adviser, Denis Aitken “This marks a break with the past,” he said, “opening up the WHO to external candidates, especially qualified women.” Of the three appointments, two were external, and one of these was a woman.
