Rapid responses are electronic letters to the editor. They enable our users to debate issues raised in articles published on thebmj.com. Although a selection of rapid responses will be included online and in print as readers' letters, their first appearance online means that they are published articles. If you need the url (web address) of an individual response, perhaps for citation purposes, simply click on the response headline and copy the url from the browser window. Letters are indexed in PubMed.
The Ministry of Health in Namibia is currently preparing guidelines for prevention of occupational transmission of HIV, including post exposure prophylaxis for health workers after sharp injuries. A meeting of national experts is planned on this issue is scheduled for mid-July 1998.
For this purpose, the National STD/AIDS programme is very interested to obtain copies of a copy of similar Guidelines developed by the the Expert advisory group for the UK Health Department.
So far, I did not find any reference to a website, where these guidelines could be consulted. Would it be possibble for the BMA or the author of this letter to help us further?
The Ministry would highly appreciate any assisance in peer reviewing of the guidelines, after the planned meeting in July, so that comments can be taken into account in the final version. Where could we find assistance for this matter?
