An MBA (Masters of Business Administration) is not currently a compulsory item on the curriculum vitae of the doctor who wants to step into management, but it may become so. There are many possibilities, but the Open University's Business School has plenty of experience, having trained more than 190,000 managers by distance learning since its inception in 1983. Details about enrolment are available at www.open.ac.uk/ or on 01908 653449.
