The Israel Medical Association, concerned about rising violence against doctors, is demanding protection, such as the posting of a police guard in every hospital emergency room.
There have been four incidents in the past two weeks—among them the murder of a senior doctor in the Israel Prison Service. Doctors say that in nearly every emergency room in any given week there are several incidents of threatened violence, with actual attacks from time to time.
