The new medical education is all very well, but does it make better doctors? An Australian paper argues that it does (Med Educ 1998;32:19-24); or at any rate the students on a non-traditional course with earlier clinical exposure and better training in communication skills were rated more highly during their intern year than graduates from traditional courses.
