Editor—Last year Ismail and Carnall highlighted the positive attitude of the British in bringing racism in the NHS to worldwide attention.1 Similar coverage by Deutsches Ärzteblatt, the medical and political organ of the BundesÄrztekammer (the German medical association) in Germany, would be unthinkable.
