"Evidence"?
I am puzzled at the speed with which some metaphors advance in a
society, "evidence-based" is one such metaphor, one which has advanced so
rapidly as to have become almost instant jargon.
Examining the term one must ask if the practices that preceded were
not evidence-based. Without answering that question, I cannot assume the
integrity of the term, for, unless I am wrong, each intervention mental
health systems employed, each did on the basis of evidence, or they did
not act with integrity.
Is this new term making that assertion?
