The Joint Committee on Postgraduate Training for General Practice has revised its booklet, A Guide to Certification. This describes how training for general practice is organised in Britain, the length and content of training, and the procedures that doctors should follow when seeking advice on the further training they may require and when making an application for a certificate. There are sections on appeals, assessment, and overseas doctors. The guide is available from the JCPTGP, 14 Princes Gate, Hyde Park, London SW7 1PU (tel 0171 581 3232).
