The world's biggest cigarette producer and consumer this week played host to the 10th world conference on tobacco or health with the theme “Tobacco: the growing epidemic.” And when the 2000 delegates stepped out of the conference centre on to the streets of Beijing, they could be in no doubt about the scale of the problem in the world's most populous country.
