About a quarter of all employees are now employed part time, according to official figures from the government's labour force survey. An article in the April issue of IRS Employment Review provides an overview of the latest research on part time employment. It looks at the reasons behind the huge expansion of the part time workforce, as well as at potential difficulties in the management of part timers.
