The pilot scheme of the master's research degree, the MRes, moves into its second year. Twenty five graduates - with either medical or basic science degrees - have been sponsored by the Medical Research Council on the one year course, which teaches generic research skills through a mix of project and course work. Another objective of the degree is to develop skills in communication, IT, and presentation which will carry over into employment. Further details from Dr David Cox at the MRC on 0171636 5422.
