All three political parties in Britain have responded positively to the BMA's six election health challenges, which were published in the BMJ (15 March, pp 767-8). The BMA council chairman, Dr Sandy Macara, who issued the challenges, said that the swift responses were encouraging and that he hoped that the parties could now deliver on these pledges.
