According to the Careers Service Unit, the Manchester publishing house which serves university career services, 38.7% graduate jobs are open to people from any discipline. Itspublication Prospects Today found that degree subject was not specified in 1558 of 4028 jobs surveyed. But Tony Webb, the CBI's director of education, argues that the concept of a graduate job is itself outmoded. In a recent statement he claimed that “graduates bring new perspectives to jobs which non graduates did before them.” So now you know: if medicine starts to pall you too could bring new vision to the supermarket

aisle.
