Meningitis outbreak prompts review

A new review of guidelines on the handling of meningococcal infections in colleges and universities has been urged after an outbreak of meningitis at the University of Wales, Cardiff, in which two women students died.
In the outbreak at the end of last year seven cases of infection were established, more than 80 students were admitted to hospital, and more than 1000 people were immunised with meningococcal AC vaccine. The outbreak …
