Editor–Does Chris Ham really believe that we are in for “a period of organisational stability” in the health service?1 His editorial on “a service with ambitions#x201D;2 ignores the previous white paper, Choice and Opportunity: Primary Care: the Future, which had as its central proposal the deregulation of general practice and, indeed, all health care.3 We are in for one of the most intensive periods of change within the health service that we have ever experienced.
