Doug Gillies' article on choosing a consultant post (Career Focus, 26 October) suggested that psychometric testing can be a useful way of gaining insights on your own personality. He argued that such exercises are best conducted on a training course where comparisons with other group members can take place, but to those who want to do it solo, he suggests Understanding your personality with Myers-Brigg and Moore by P Hedges (London: Sheldon Press,1993) as a useful starting point.
