EDITOR,—In reply to Caroline Flint's comments, I would refer her to the NHS General Medical Services Regulations. Paragraph 20(2)(b) of schedule 2 confirms that the doctor with whom the patient is registered is responsible for the acts and omissions of all people acting on his or her behalf unless those people are doctors on any NHS medical list and themselves responsible for their own acts and omissions.
