Scottish surgeon Donald MacLeod wrote to point out that in Scotland postgraduate deans administer 100% of full time basic salary of junior doctors, compared with the 50% that their English counterparts have at their disposal. Apologies for being unthinkingly Anglo-centric, and a question: does this difference have a real impact at the level of individual trainee?
