    Materialist interpretations of personality and human behaviour are becoming increasingly popular as the trend towards biological psychiatry continues. Within this framework discussion of the materialist basis of human consciousness has been revived, spawning several publications. Among the most recent is Greenfield's Journey to the Centers of the Mind.
