German doctor donates kidney

It sounds like the storyline in a television medical drama, but the case of a transplant surgeon voluntarily donating one of his kidneys to a patient really happened. Last month Professor Jochem Hoyer, an experienced transplant surgeon in Lubeck, Germany, donated his kidney to a 29 year old man whose identity he did not know.
