Access to sterile injecting equipment is important

    EDITOR,—As Kate Dolan and colleagues comment, substantial drug misuse continues even in prison.1 As many as 70% of all prisoners will probably use a controlled drug.2 Research at Maryland Centre in Liverpool shows that 83 of 87 injecting drug users who were interviewed had been in prison and that 71 had used drugs there.
