    EDITOR,—I understand that the chief executive of the supermarket group Asda, Mr Archie Norman, has written to doctors urging them to indicate their support for his campaign for the abolition of resale price maintenance on medicines (whereby retailers cannot sell an item at a price below that recommended by the manufacturer).
