A new report from the Trades Union Congress identifies the difficulties which trade unions face in recruiting part timers and examines what potential there is for overcoming these. Part of the union? - the challenge of recruiting and organising part-time workers says that trade unions need to take note of the way that the labour force is undergoing major changes and that unions will be unable to claim to be representative organisations of workers if they fail to recruit and organise part timers.
