EDITOR,—Richard Gray and John Northover criticise my editorial on the grounds that I reviewed the literature selectively. In fact, I reviewed all the available literature on trials of adjuvant chemotherapy in Dukes's type C colon cancer, either published or available as an abstract, since Laurie et al's publication of 19891 and did not apply any selection. The trials that Gray and Northover quote (N Wilking, Stockholm colorectal cancer symposium, Stockholm, 12-13 Oct 1995)2 are in progress and therefore cannot be reviewed.
