Nigerian doctor held as “prisoner of conscience”

A Nigerian doctor has been imprisoned by the Nigerian special military police in conditions that border on torture, claims his daughter, Morenike Ransome-Kuti. Dr Beko Ransome-Kuti was arrested on 27 July 1995 for speaking out about the arrests and secret trials of 43 people allegedly involved in an attempted coup in March 1995.
