Prison authorities drop charges against doctor: A Scottish prison doctor who was due to face disciplinary proceedings after making allegations on television about violence by officers against inmates has accepted an offer of voluntary severance. All charges against Dr Simon Danson, who worked at Glasgow's Barlinnie jail for six years, have been dropped.
